The Outer Worlds is an action-adventure role-playing sci-fi video game developed by Obsidian Entertainment and published by Private Division on October 25, 2019. The game was released for Windows PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4. In 2020 will come a version for Nintendo Switch. The video game is played from first-person perspective. It is one of the best RPG games, with a great narrative, witty dialogues infused with humor, a non-linear sound gameplay, companion system, and more. The video game is technically sound, based on Unreal Engine 4. The Outer Worlds is one of the best ps4 games and xbox games of the RPG genre.
The story is as follow: we are in an alternate future on a path set by the events of 1901 when President William McKinley is not assassinated, which means that Theodore Roosevelt never become president of United States. The American society become dominated by mega-corporations (how is that different than today?) that started colonizing other planets. The player is on a colony ship at the edge of the known universe where he is wake-up by a scientist from his cryosleep. He uncovers a conspiracy threatening to destroy the world. The player explore the other worlds, encounter different factions and try to save the day. The game features a branching story that reacts to what the player selects. The result is, as mentioned, one of the best xbox games and ps4 games in the action-RPG category.
While you can breeze through the main questline a bit quicker than in similar games, this is the sort of RPG experience you’ll want to play through multiple times, with multiple builds, to see all the systems and narrative paths on offer. In other words, it is highly replayable and enjoyable. We have a very complex interconnected narrative with many events and relationships that seem to change in so many many ways based on the character choices and actions.
