From Metal Gear creator Hideo Kojima comes Death Stranding, a stealth-action videogame with many unique features. The game has captured the imagination of all people that have seen the trailers. Yes, there were a number of teasers and extended cinematic looks at the game since its first announcement three years ago. If you did not see them yet, please check them out. One of them you may found on this review (right bellow).

Also, Kojima name is a trusted brand and a warranty for quality. Hideo Kojima has always been fascinated with America in his games. Metal Gear game series was interrogating America’s military actions. These action-adventure stealth video games published by Konami were maybe too forward thinking at their time, still receiving mostly good reviews. For who does not remember, in Metal Gear games the player takes control of Solid Snake or Big Boss, a special forces operative who is tasked with finding the “Metal Gear” superweapon, a bipedal walking tank able to launch nuclear weapons.

The player often takes control of a special forces operative (usually Solid Snake or Big Boss), who is assigned the task of finding the titular superweapon “Metal Gear”, a bipedal walking tank with the ability to launch nuclear weapons. The first release — the original Metal Gear — is dated 1987. The last game of the series until now is Metal Gear Survive published in 2018.

Is Death Stranding part of Metal Gear franchise? No, it is not. Death Stranding is first production of Kojima and it is a different kind of game. It is probably the most interesting (and strange) video game I ever played. I love buying ps4 games like Death Stranding, games that will stay with me forever.

Players find themselves in an apocalyptic United States after a cataclysmic event: “Death Stranding”. The world is surreal, where concepts like time and gravity lost their meaning. Between life and death there is no longer separation. “Death Stranding” caused “Beached Things” or “BTs”, non-human creatures originating from an afterlife land known as the “Beach”. The falling rain accelerates time and everything it comes into contact with is speeding through time, which is basically deadly (imagine growing faster… you will die as faster as you grow).

BTs try to bring people to the “Beach”, they erode the environment and life as we know it on Earth. Cities are isolated and communities are shattered. After a few hours of playing the game you will become to modify your usual habbits and expectations as nothing works totally as you knew it in this apocalyptic world. You will observe how people communicate over huge distances through holograms, and some things are working in reverse, like seeing the memories of a baby. It is not very clear to me why things are working this way, but this bizarre world it certainly gives you goosebumps. I did not finish it yet and I consider it already one of the best ps4 games.

The game bring unique ideas and the atmosphere it creates is something not previously seen. Death Stranding is a masterpiece. You will be witness at some of the most incredible and amazing scenes in the history of videogames. Also you will navigate a complex and overwhelming story, probably the most crazy game story you encountered in your life. It helps that it has great visuals, and the sound design is wonderful. Still, the concept and the new ideas that are incorporated in the gameplay are truly innovative, scary like a fever dream.

Death Stranding was released at November 8, 2019 for PlayStation 4. first post-Metal Gear project of Hideo Kojima and it is already making history. In the second or third quarter of 2020 is announced a PC version for Windows. The Xbox One funs are missing an utterly crazy gameplay experience (sorry guys)! We have our copy from BuyGames (thank you guys)!
